Our Mission
Our mission is to develop confident, multicultural, multilingual children who respect diversity and community and who are caring, capable, enthusiastic, and committed to a lifetime of learning.
Montessori Approach
The Montessori Method of education is based on the observations and discoveries of Dr. Maria Montessori. Montessori is an individualized program designed to help each child reach their fullest potential.
The Montessori materials are designed to help develop concentration, coordination and independence, as well as give experience in academics. The classroom is designed for the child to develop a social sense and awareness of others in a natural and unrushed way.
Teachers are responsible for creating dynamic learning environments in which children are encouraged to be active: touching, seeing, smelling, moving and exploring, as well as listening and speaking.
Such environments are intended to encourage each child to reason, to cooperate, to collaborate, to negotiate, and to understand. The goal is the development of an autonomous individual, competent in all areas of life, not merely someone with the "right" answers.
The Montessori philosophy is built upon the idea that children develop and think differently than adults - they are not merely "adults in small bodies".
Children are exposed to math, language arts, geography, science, art, music, and practical life through the use of a full complement of Montessori materials in the target language and in English.
