Excited Primary students return from a field trip to the Shedd Aquarium.
Lower & Upper Elementary
This program offers instruction in a lower program (ages 6 to 9) and in an upper program (ages 9 to 12).
Full Day Program 8:30 - 3:00pm Intercultural Montessori offers a full immersion elementary program in Spanish or Japanese. As students progress through the curriculum, the amount of English is increased until students are spending 50% of their day in the target language and the other part of the day in English.

Students cover the entire range of the curriculum in both languages.

At the elementary level, students experience a "cosmic curriculum" covering math, language arts, science, history, geography, ecology, and art through the use of activities that lead students from concrete to abstract learning.

Students develop independent research skills in all of the subjects and individually or in small groups choose areas of research to write reports and give oral presentations to their classmates. Students participate in a week-long trip to Wisconsin to study the environment and ecology in a Montessori setting.
