Cossette Avila Lead Primary Teacher, Spanish
Ms. Cossette Avila has been working at Intercultural Montessori Language School since 2007. Prior to becoming Montessori certified for children aged 3-6 years, Ms. Cossette received excellent hands-on Montessori mentoring under several of Intercultural's master teachers. She is working on completing her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Kendall College in Chicago. Those who have had the pleasure of knowing Cossette realize what a warm, caring person she is. Her positive attitude has been an asset in creating the kind of nurturing atmosphere found in a Montessori classroom.
Karen Loeza Assistant Teacher
Ms. Karen Loeza was born and raised in Chicago by Mexican parents in a very culture driven household in the heart of Little Village. Having spent her childhood summers in Mexico, she feels very close to her Mexican roots. She has been with Intercultural since 2012 when she started as a substitute and Extended Day Teacher. In March 2013 she became the assistant teacher for the Los Hijos del Sol community. Ms. Karen is currently pursuing a B.A. in Early Childhood Education from National Louis University. On completion of her degree, her goal is to acquire her Montessori teaching certification. She hopes to help create a very nurturing and creative environment in which children will find joy and comfort while learning. Ms. Karen’s son Anthony graduated from the primary program in Oak Park in 2016. During her free time, Ms. Karen enjoys reading and taking care of her family and pets.
Mariana Angeles Assistant Teacher
Ms. Mariana Angeles is originally from Cuernavaca Morelos, Mexico. She now lives in Cicero, IL with her husband Efrain and two children Frankie and Melanie. Ms. Mariana loves working with children and developing her own career further in the field of Montessori education. Ms. Angeles is bilingual in English and Spanish.
