Intercultural Montessori Language School has campuses in Oak Park and Chicago. We are a non-profit Montessori dual language school serving over 300 children from three years of age through middle school.
We are a dual language school that provides families an option for their child to learn with Japanese, Spanish, or Chinese Mandarin language environments, where children learn to read, write and converse in the target language as well as in English. Intercultural students matriculate into high school with a strong dual language foundation upon which they will build their futures.
Developing Global Citizens is the central principle that guides our beliefs and teaching of young children at Intercultural Montessori Language School. Our small class sizes, supervised by staff experienced in the Montessori and dual language teaching methods, allow us to focus on the individual interests and needs of each child in our school.
The Montessori Method is internationally recognized as one of the paramount methods of learning for over one hundred years. Our hands-on materials, combined with a well-developed target language curriculum, foster the child’s personal growth and self-confidence. The Montessori Method emphasizes the importance of creating a learning environment designed to meet each child’s individual needs and unique personality. Children are introduced to numerous concepts in the target language in culturally prepared classroom environments. These themes propel children’s curiosity and excitement, cultivate language, develop scientific and critical thinking skills and motivate them to work independently.
We welcome you to take a tour of our school, meet with our staff, and share with us the unique and individual qualities of your child. On behalf of the Intercultural staff and faculty, it is my great pleasure to welcome you. We look forward to serving the needs of your children!
