Community

Our family community is at the heart of our school. We believe that collaboration between school and home is key to student success. Throughout the school year, families have numerous opportunities to get involved, from volunteering in the classroom to participating in special events and committees.

Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

The PTA hosts parent meetings, supports teacher appreciation, and plans social events throughout the year. To learn about our activities and connect directly with PTA parents, please reach out to pta@interculturalmontessori.org.

DEIB Committee

During the 2023-2024 school year, we partnered with with Dr. Valaida Wise to take a deeper look at DEIB at Intercultural. Dr. Val Wise collected information through focus groups and surveys to create recommendations for Intercultural. We are proud of the many wonderful things she shared about our school and have began working together to improve in areas identified. If you would like to be involved in the DEIB committee, please email Roderick Shaw (rshaw@interculturalmontessori.org).

Fundraising Committees

Intercultural hosts two major fundraising events annually: the Fall Carnival and the Spring Gala. We depend on our dedicated parent and staff community to volunteer for these committees and ensure the success of each event. If you’re interested in getting involved, please email Clarice Arther at carther@interculturalmontessori.org.

Family Participation

There are many opportunities for families to participate in person at Intercultural. Please view the Academic Calendar to view when our events take place. Additionally, Intercultural holds 3 school-wide cultural celebrations each year. Setsubun, Chinese New Year and Children’s Day. Along with these, classrooms may have additional cultural celebrations. If you would like to share a cultural celebration with your child’s community, please reach out to your child’s teachers.
